QB Rankings: Divisional Round

Kurt Warner is out #1 ranked QB in the Divisional Round....

|
1. Kurt Warner @ NO: If this is Kurt Warner's swan song, then he is going out in a blaze of glory. His performance against the Packers was one for the ages, and we expect a similar result this Sunday. The Saints did not play well during the last quarter of the season, as they lost three straight games, and may come into this game a little rusty. The Cardinal's offense is hot, and Warner is on fire, start him with confidence. |
2. Drew Brees vs AZ: Drew Brees started the year with a bang, but the Saints may have peaked early in the season, and may take a quarter, or longer to get going against the Cardinals. The Cardinals allowed 422 yards passing, and 5 total TDs to Aaron Rodgers last week, so Brees is an obvious choice this week. |
3. Brett Favre vs Dal: Favre and the Vikings were slumping towards the end of the season, but a week 17 blowout of the Giants has given the team the swagger that it had earlier in the year. The Cowboys defense is playing at optimum level, but we feel that Favre has too many weapons for the Boys' to handle. |
4. Peyton Manning vs Bal: After operation sit the starters in week 15, the Colts haven't played a meaningful game in nearly a month. The Ravens are coming off a big win at Foxborough, so the Colts better be ready. Peyton Manning is the consummate professional, so we think the Ravens secondary will be challenged the entire game. |
5. Tony Romo @ Min: The Cowboys offense has a well balance attack led by Tony Romo, and with Marion Barber ailing, he could have more pressure to perform in Minnesota. The Vikings are 8-0 in the metrodome, so Romo will have to throw plenty to with game. |
6. Philip Rivers vs NYJ: The Jets defense looked dominant against the Bengals, but the Chargers offense is much more dangerous then the Bengals. Even if Revis can take Vincent out of the game, the Jets will have to deal with Nanee, Floyd, Gates, and Sproles out of the backfield. Look for Rivers to continue with his MVP caliber season, with a solid performance on Sunday. |
7. Joe Flacco @ Ind: Flacco completed only 4 passes for 34 yards, with an INT against the Pats, so to say he will improve on those numbers, isn't exactly going out on a limb. Flacco is dealing with a thigh injury that is causing him problems, and with Dwight Freeney and Robert Mathis coming off the edge, he may find it tough to get the passing game going. |
8. Mark Sanchez @ SD: The rookie set a record for completion percentage for rookie QBs in a playoff game, but don't look for a repeat this week. The Chargers should jump out to a lead on the Jets, forcing Sanchez into more passing downs then Rex Ryan would like. Sanchez playing from behind is not a good combination for success. |
